The hackle stacker technique wraps a hackle around a flexible post, then the entire post is laid forward over the thorax. For the Hairy Beetle, the hackle-stacker is tied in at the start of the bend and wrapped to the hook eye forming a body. Note: the hackle barbs of the hackle-stacker in the gape do not interfere with a biting fish.
